Parent & Spectator Code of Conduct

Helping create a positive, respectful, and fun environment for every player, coach, umpire, and family member at OBYBSA.

Our Commitment to Sportsmanship

Ormond Beach Youth Baseball & Softball is a non-profit organization run solely by volunteers. For our players to have the best possible experience, we ask every parent, grandparent, spectator, and family member to support the league with respect, sportsmanship, and personal responsibility.

Baseball, softball, and T-Ball are meant to be fun for the kids. This code of conduct helps protect that experience for every player on the field.

  • Demonstrate good sportsmanship to all players at all times.
  • Treat your child, other players, coaches, umpires, officials, and fans with respect.
  • Refrain from derogatory remarks directed at or about players, coaches, umpires, or spectators.
Participation

Parent Responsibilities

  • Make every effort to have your child at practices and games.
  • Notify your coach when your child cannot attend.
  • Support the team when possible, understanding the league depends on volunteers.
  • Encourage your child to listen to coaches, participate fully, and always have fun.
Spectators

Responsibility for Guests

  • Parents and guardians are responsible for the behavior of their child and any spectators they bring.
  • This applies to conduct on the field, around the complex, and in the stands.
  • Everyone attending practices and games should help maintain a safe and respectful environment.
League Enforcement

Failure to Follow the Rules

OBYBSA reserves the right to ask a person to leave and/or not return for a day, a game, a week, or the entire season depending on the seriousness of the infraction.

The league, officials, and umpires may take action when behavior threatens the safety, fun, or sportsmanship of the program.
